Visio assigns a default data type of ten character text to all new columns. If desired, you can change the columns to their correct data types. Of course, this will have no impact on the appearance of the drawing.

Visio allows you to add new functionality by adding macro's. To add macro's, go to "Tools->Macros->Visual Basic Editor' and select "Visio objects->ThisDocument". By cut-and-pasting you can add new macro's to your document.

The first thing Visio does is prompt you to select a drawing type or an existing file. For convenience, it shows the names of the drawing types and files that have been used most recently. If you need to use one that isn't shown, then select Choose Drawing Type or Browse Existing Files.
