[T]hese days it is rare to find vinyl record shops that sell fresh EP and LP records. The heydays of records are definitely gone, no thanks to the popularity of the Internet and the digitization of music formats from their analog forms. What you can find in a typical vinyl record shop are music of popular songs from the 1950s to 1980s. The typical shop has a sizeable number of albums in its stock, and it specifically caters to music lovers of the different music genres.

Fidelity steadily dropped as the recording progressed; there was more vinyl per second available for fine reproduction of high frequencies at the large-diameter beginning of the music groove than on the smaller diameter inner grooves closer to the center. The beginning of the music groove on an LP gave 510 mm of vinyl per second traveling past the stylus while the ending of the music groove gave 200-210 mm of vinyl per second—less than half the linear resolution.[7]
