Some of these may be serious and must be reported to your doctor. Other effects, such as hair loss, may not be serious but may cause concern. Some effects may not occur for months or years after the medicine is used.

Vincristine may make you feel generally unwell. This is not uncommon because vincristine affects good cells as well as cancer cells. Report any side effects as above, but continue your course of medicine even though you feel ill, unless your prescriber or health care professional tells you to stop.

Vincristine is given by an injection in a vein over 2 to 5 minutes. Tell the nurse if you feel pain, burning, or discomfort in the vein when it is given.
