   Earlier this year, ?uestlove of The Roots had a contest for underground talent. There's a new album called Okayplayer Presents True Notes Vol.1, and two spots were open for new artists. Although Quotable didn't make the cut, their song "Bout Time" placed in the top 10 finalists, out of 5,000 submitted songs. For more, view the April 23rd update, on the front page of OkayPlayer.com.
2. Columbia University -- Views
   Representing some of the finest new-media performance art in the world today, Columbia artists presented new pieces followed by responses from a panel of leading critics. To complement these ephemeral experiences, DKV created a site that includes background information on the artists, their homepages, an interview with "cyber troubadour" Terry Pender, and introductory remarks by the director of the Computer Music Center, Brad Garton. 3. Adobe Acrobat -- Viewing
   Adobe tested deployment of Acrobat 5.0 and Acrobat 5.0.5 using WTS in the client desktop operating systems, with the applications running only on the stated servers. On the Windows 2000 server(No Service Packs for Acrobat 5.0) and Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (Acroabat 5.0.5), the applications were Microsoft Office 2000 (No Service Releases), Internet Explorer 5.0( No Service Packs), and Netscape 4.78. On the Windows NT 4.0 Sevice Pack 6 server running Citrix, the applications were Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 , Internet Explorer 5.0 (No Service Packs),and Netscape 4.78. Table 1.1 displays each client environment and the server under which the applications were run.
4. Nikon -- Nikon View
   Nikon's newest CoolPix P series cams are the stick-shifts of the point-and-shoot world, with optical viewfinders, full manual controls and lots of hands-on features. The 12-megapixel CoolPix P5100 (right) has 3.5x optical zoom coupled with an Optical Vibration Reduction system. You can crop and edit shots on its 2.5" LCD, and it runs on a lithium-ion battery. The 8-megapixel P50 is a yin to the P5100's yang: it runs on AA batteries, has electronic image stabilizing and has a wide-angle 3.6x optical lens.

6. Online Learning -- Online Courses
   Butler Online courses utilize the ANGEL Learning Management system. This system contains tools for communication, testing, assignment submission, and directions and notes for each specific course. There are two formats for Butler Online courses: Web courses and WebCentric courses. A Web course has no required on-campus visits; a WebCentric course has required on-campus visits throughout the semester. These required meetings provide opportunity for labs, learning activities, and performance outcomes that are not feasible in an online environment.The course schedule ... includes meeting dates for WebCentric courses.
