The Victoria Golf Club has been the site of the Courtnall Celebrity Classic (which raised $2 million to fund a treatment centre for Mental Illness). The golf-and-gala weekend has featured Island-native Pamela Anderson, Wayne Gretzky, Keifer Sutherland, Debra Unger, Alan Thicke and a host of NHL and NFL players.

From Victoria, the west coast beaches and rain forests can easily be reached. The Gulf Islands northeast of Victoria are ... a popular destination for recreation and touring. The Comox Valley, to the north, is also a popular tourist destination.

The only way to explore all of Victoria's senses is to go outside. Old growth forests still exist on this island, as do magnificent Garry Oak ecosystems and ocean ecological reserves. Green spaces are plenty and in close proximity, and yes you can see shooting stars at night.
