Victor Wong Victor Wong was a first generation Chinese-American born in San Francisco's Chinatown in 1927 to recent immigrants. His father was a Confucian scholar who had established himself as a journalist in Shanghai before migrating with his Baptist wife. Young Victor and his younger siblings were forced to go to the First Chinese Baptist Church every week, and Victor was affected by this, often proselytizing on the streets of San Francisco with his brother Zepplin.

Victor Wong graduated with a BSc in Electrical Engineering in 1989 when the industry of digital media was only beginning to emerge. The fast development of the industry in the past decade means that what Victor learned in school is constantly being transformed; Victor relies on the internet to continuously update himself with new cutting edge technologies that allow him to produce work of a high standard and relevance in the digital media industry.
As the father, Victor Wong (who in real life was a Jack Kerouac companion and one of Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters) is a charming, small-time manipulator. "You know what to do with this?" he asks his son, grabbing his own, uh, area of concern.
Victor Wong Victor Wong was born in San Francisco on July 31, 1927. He was the eldest son of the late Sare King Wong, a Chinese calligrapher, journalist, poet and advisor to Chiang Kai-Shek, Taiwan’s president at the time. His mother Alice taught at a Chinese language school. When Wong was 3, his family moved to Locke to open a school in nearby Courtland for the children of Chinese farmers and laborers. The Wongs returned to San Francisco three years later. He spent his childhood in the bachelor society of Chinatown.
