1. Francis Ford Coppola -- Al Pacino
   While Francis Ford Coppola was discovering how to stand up, The Academy gave a standing ovation to these movies and actors: 'Gone With The Wind'- Directed by Victor Fleming won the Best Movie Academy Award in 1939. Also this year, the Academy Award for Best Actor went to Robert Donat for his role in 'Goodbye Mr. Chips' and the Best Actress Award went to Vivien Leigh for her role in 'Gone with the Wind'.
2. Joan of Arc (1412-1431) -- Saints
   Georges Melies signed the first version in 1900 and Cecil B. DeMille made Joan the Woman with Geraldine Farrar in 1917. Carl Theodor Dreyer made the highly acclaimed The Passion of Joan of Arc in 1928. Ingrid Bergman starred in two different versions: Victor Fleming's Joan of Arc in 1948 and Roberto Rossellini's Joan of Arc at the Stake in 1954. Three years later, Otto Preminger made Saint Joan with Jean Seberg. The most recent version was Jeanne la Pucelle in two parts by Jacques Rivette with Sandrine Bonnaire in 1993.
3. David O. Selznick -- Directors
   At David O. Selznick's Vanguard, the board of directors in 1947 included himself, Daniel O'Shea and Loyd Wright. Selznick as the sole stockholder of SRO: see SIMPP v. United Detroit, Deposition of David O. Selznick, April 28, 1949, p. 49, AMPAS.
4. Marg Helgenberger -- Series
   Fabulously gorgeous, Marg Helgenberger notably establishes herself in the entertainment industry as she stars in the hit series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. This 40 something actress graces the theater, television and movie crowd with her lavish glamour and sophistication. Moreover, her generosity in helping charities keeps her grounded despite her achieved fame.
5. Ingrid Bergman -- Roles
   Ingrid Bergman plays the title role in this powerful adaptation of the Henrik Ibsen play. Newly married, Hedda (Bergman) is impatient for her husband (Michael Redgrave) to secure a prestigious job to improve their circumstances. 6. Betty Grable -- Films
   This reference work provides a comprehensive record of the life and career of Betty Grable. The book begins with a biography that presents and discusses the most significant events in Grable's life. The chronology that follows summarizes her career in capsule form. The succeeding chapters provide a detailed account of Grable's performances in various media, including films, television, radio, stage, nightclubs, videos, and records. The entries in these sections succinctly present the facts concerning each of Grable's performances and offer insightful commentary. 7. David O. Selznick -- Vanguard Films
   David O. Selznick wordt vaak gezien als de prototype onafhankelijke filmproducent. Selznick maakte zijn films met veel zorg en was bereid veel geld, tijd en mankracht aan een project te besteden. Ook stond hij bekend om de vele honderden memo's die hij rondstuurde tijdens de productie van een film aan vrijwel iedereen die aan de film meewerkte.
8. Clara Bow -- Star
   The term was coined by English romance novelist and screenwriter Elinor Glyn to describe actress Clara Bow when she appeared with success in the Hollywood silent film It in 1927. Based on Glyn's novella of the same title, the movie was planned as a special showcase for the popular Paramount Studios star. Owing to Glyn's widely publicized pronouncement, the term it, a euphemism for sex-appeal, not only catapulted Bow to fame but became a catch phrase, eventually entering the cultural lexicon. Bow's contemporary and friend, the actress Louise Brooks, who popularised the bobbed hairstyle of the 1920s, was ... widely described as an "It girl", especially retrospectively.
9. Jean Harlow -- Clark Gable
   Jean Harlow was the first platinum blonde that brought sexuality to the Hollywood scene. Her short career was highlighted by her starring roles in Red Dust with Clark Gable and Libeled Lady with Spencer Tracy. Harlow's untimely death of a brain hemorrhage at only 26 years old caused her to miss out on what could have been her biggest role, that which was filled by Fay Wray in King Kong. This drink named after her is a simple sweet rum martini, supposedly a favorite of the actress.
10. John Garfield -- New York
    New York native John Garfield was a tough kid who grew up to often play the tough guy in movies. He worked with the infamous Busby Berkeley, and later with Victor Fleming, Howard Hawks and Elia Kazan. He starred with Lana Turner in "The Postman Always Rings Twice" and with Gregory Peck in "Gentleman's Agreement." John was among the many in Hollywood who were targets of the HUAC hearings in the 1940's for supposed Communist connections. John stood his ground, and refused to cooperate with the committee on these unfounded charges, a brave stand which, unfortunately, negatively effected his career but kept his honor intact.
