built 280 days ago
In the industrial sector, Veolia Environnement guarantees its customers the highest health, safety and environmental standards. It caters to both purely local companies, as well as to the large multinationals whose international expansion Veolia supports. Veolia Environnement recently strengthened its position in the automotive segment with new contracts with PSA in France and Visteon in Germany, as well as in the agrifood, paper and steel sectors, e.g. with Arcelor in Brazil.
Through Onyx, its Waste Management division, Veolia Environnement has signed a contract with Shanghai Huancheng Waste-To-Energy Co., the Chinese company in charge of waste services for Shanghai. The 20-year contract covers the management of the Puxi Jiangqiao waste-to-energy plant, which is the largest plant of its kind in China. After eight months of tests and setting adjustments, the plant has a treatment capacity of 1,000 metric tons per day of household waste.

In April 2003, the company changed its name from Vivendi Environnement to Veolia Environnement, a move designed to reflect its independence and changes in its ownership structure. To coincide with this name change and, as a result of rapid business expansion, the company decided that it needed to enhance and bring some standardization to its internal global communications . It therefore decided to develop and implement an Employee Corporate Portal. This solution had to be global in scope, and, therefore, the portal had to be multilingual. The timeframe from design to implementation of the solution was extremely short รข€“ 4 months.
