Henin-Serena Williams [T]he main event today is the semifinal match between Justine Henin and Venus Williams, which will feel like a premature final. Just don’t forget about that other semifinal between Russians Anna Chakvetadze and Svetlana Kuznetsova. Chakvetadze, the only semifinalist who has not won a Grand Slam, and Kuznetsova, who won the Open three years ago, come from the largest country in the world by area.
Venus & Serena At the tender age of 14, Venus Williams had already become a professional athlete, taking the world of tennis by storm. Fiercely determined and wielding an impressive physical prowess, she spent the next decade rising to the top-ranked position and winning numerous championships, including the U.S. Open, Wimbledon and doubles at the Australian Open and French Open in addition to two Olympic Gold medals.

Sexy Ana Ivanovic was defeated in straight sets by Venus Williams in Wimbledon and the US Open. Venus had more tactics, including playing close to the net. Although Ana wasn’t at her best condition, she tried leaping into the shot, even against Venus’s serve. In the first set, the two appeared evenly matched on the baseline, but Williams took over as the match went on. She won 83 percent of the points on her first serve , and was clearly the better player at the end.
American Express will support its 2007 US Open sponsorship with a multi-platform communications campaign featuring Venus Williams and James Blake. The campaign, which will include the Company's recently launched "Are you a Cardmember?" thematic, will launch with out-of-home units throughout New York City beginning August 20, followed by national and local print and online executions.
