As Vegeta trained in the adverse conditions he placed upon himself, he realized that he had reached his maximum, and it was nowhere close to that of a Super Saiyajin. His training has proven futile. Vegeta was infuriated at himself, how could a genius fighter such as himself be outclassed by someone who belonged among the fighters of a lower-class? This rage at himself triggered his transformation. Suddenly, he had ... become a Super Saiyajin. With this transformation, he suddenly understood what it meant to be a Super Saiyajin, and what was required to become.

Vegeta never reached Super Saiyan 3. This transformation was only seen within Dragon Ball GT. Vegeta could not achieve this form by himself because Yajirobe cut off his tail. He was aided with the help of Bulma, using Blutz Waves. These waves ran through Vegeta's veins, forcing his tail to grow back, allowing him to transform into an Oozaru. His great power allowed him to transform into a Golden Oozaru, and then, upon gaining control of himself, Super Saiyan 4.

During the android battle Vegeta becomes Super Saiyan and surprizes the Z-team. He later destroys Android #19 with the "Big Bang Attack". During the Cell Saga he learns the "Final Flash" technique.

He is fiercely proud of his Saiyan heritage and his own status as "the Prince of all Saiyans". He is sociopathic, behaving antisocially even for a Saiyan; he dislikes the prospect of associating with people, especially humans and those he considers "weak" and "worthless".
