Majin Vegeta is the form he achives when he is Sent under the control of Babidi. It is basically Super Saiyan 2. The only differences are that instead of just having somewhat spikier hair, He has much more bulked up muscles, Veins are protruding out of him from random places and the "Majin" insignia branded onto his forehead. His strength is matched with SSJ2 Goku and he is stronger then Gohan at Super Saiyan 2 when he fought Cell. It is speculated that this form did nothing for Vegeta as there are hints Vegeta reached level 2 before becoming a Majin.

Years later, Vegeta enters the Tenkaichi Budokai in hopes of fighting Goku[6]. The tournament is interrupted when the Kaioshin asks Goku and company to help him defeat Babidi. Vegeta reluctantly follows in hopes of fighting Goku. Vegeta then allows Babidi to take over his body, turning him into Majin Vegeta[7], increasing his power. Vegeta forces Goku to fight him by killing innocent spectators at the Tenkaichi Budokai. During their fight Vegeta reveals that he willingly allowed Babadi to possess him so that he could go back to being his old self.

Vegeta couldn't beat Majin Buu on his own, because Buu was stronger. The only thing he could do to vaporize him was his Final Explosion, which failed. a Final Flash would be too weak, despite their difference was smaller than between Goku and Cell, but Buu would regenerate either way.

Vegeta is eager to fight Goku in this tournament to prove that he was the stronger one. Goku meets his son Goten and the tournament starts. Soon, East Kaioshin (Shin) and Kibito appear and tell Goku that a wizard named Babidi is about to unleash an evil monster named Djinn Boo (Majin Buu) on the world, and they must help stop him. Boo needs energy from fighters so he can be freed from the shell he is trapped inside. Goku prepares to go with Shin but Vegeta is enraged - he was scheduled to fight Goku, and thinks Goku is trying to wiggle out of it. He joins Goku, Gohan, Videl, Piccolo and Kuririn. They follow Shin to Babidi's ship.
