Last year, Verizon began using 13 specially designed service vans with environmentally friendly hybrid-engine systems in Montgomery and Prince George's counties in Maryland, and in Texas. No domestic motor vehicle manufacturer currently makes hybrid vehicles in the van category, so Verizon worked closely with a company that specializes in hybrid-power systems to retrofit the new vehicles to Verizon's specifications.

Plans for the new Yancey Bus Sales & Service Division include offering sales and service locations in both Georgia and Alabama, along with a dedicated fleet of service trucks and parts delivery vans for Blue Bird product support, added Stephenson. The acquisition of Cloud 9 includes 105 vans and sedans and was completed August 30, 2007. Only five vans are company owned. The rest of the vans remaining sedans are owned by franchisees. These will become part of the more than 1,200 franchisees of the SuperShuttle system in the U.S.
