Vanna White and Pat Sajak are the long-running hosts of the TV game show Wheel of Fortune. A former model, White joined the show in 1982, turning letters on the game board while dressed in glittery evening gowns. Wheel of Fortune moved from daytime to evenings in 1983, making White and Sajak into sudden stars. By the turn of the century they had become one of TV's longest-running entertainment teams. She tried her hand at dramatic acting in the 1988 TV movie Goddess of Love and wrote a 1987 autobiography, Vanna Speaks.

Vanna White Vanna White was a high school cheerleader, and her aunt and uncle were television actors (Christopher George of Rat Patrol and Lynda Day George of Mission: Impossible), so young Vanna was naturally inclined to try show business. In 1980, White played the female lead -- a young stripper in love with an amnesiac -- in an Alan Smithee film, Gypsy Angels. She then had tiny roles in her uncle's low-budget thriller, Graduation Day, and the somewhat-remembered Looker.

Vanna White was born as Vanna Marie Rosich, on February 18, 1957, in Conway, South Carolina. Her parents got separated when she was less than a year old. She was brought up by her mother Joan and her stepfather Herbert White. She chose to take the surname of her stepfather. Vanna White is the niece of the late actor Christopher George. She was raised in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and after high school was shifted to Atlanta, Georgia to study in Atlanta School of Fashion while working as a model.
Vanna White was found crying and frightened in a wooded area near some condominiums the day after Thanksgiving, and rescued by a Purrfect Pals volunteer. Her sweet, affectionate demeanor emerged after a few days. According to her rescuer, Vanna devotes"lots of time on her personal appearance", and once she's accustomed to her new home, will likely want to groom you, too! He says she's ... fond of gazing at herself in the mirror. Of course, she is very pretty. She's quite frightened at the shelter, and will need some time in her new home to feel secure.
