Vampyren "The Vampire", by Edvard Munch. The Oxford English Dictionary dates the first appearance of the word vampire in English from 1734, in a travelogue titled Travels of Three English Gentlemen published in the Harleian Miscellany in 1745.[3][4] Vampires had already been much discussed in German literature. After Austria gained control of northern Serbia and Oltenia in 1718, officials noted the local practice of exhuming bodies and "killing vampires".[5] These reports, prepared between 1725 and 1732, received widespread publicity.[5] Several theories of the word's origin exist.[6] The English term was derived (possibly via French vampyre) from the German Vampir, in turn thought to be derived in the early 18th century[7] from Serbian вампир/vampir.[8][9][10][11] The Serbian form has parallels in virtually all Slavic languages: Bulgarian вампир (vampir), Czech and Slovak upír, Polish wąpierz, and (perhaps East Slavic-influenced) upiór, Russian упырь (upyr'), Belarusian упыр (upyr), Ukrainian упирь (upir'), from Old Russian упирь (upir'). (Note that many of these languages have ... borrowed forms such as "vampir/wampir" subsequently from the West). Among the proposed proto-Slavic forms are *
Tepes-vampires can be resurrected by ritual. This is due to the fact that Dracula himself is in essence eternal. He can be killed, but his soul is still trapped within the ash. All Tepes-vampires share this same fate: their souls remain with the ash of their bodies. This one fact is what makes the silver urn of Dracula’s ashes such a dangerous artefact.
Destroying vampires can be complicated. Vampire clans throughout history have each had different characteristics. There doesn't seem to be one method that will kill all vampires. The standard method that seems to work best involves beheading the vampire, cutting its heart out, and then burning the body. Here are some other methods used throughout the world to destroy the demon known as Vampire.

All vampires have a soul, but it is trapped within the body. This doesn’t make a vampire more prone to good or evil. However, it causes many vampires to feel trapped and even morose and melancholy. Just take a look at Lillith’s attitude. At the destruction of the body, different types of vampires have different fates.
Later vampires, those with records dating back hundreds of years. These vampires all have traits and characteristics, but are either demon or spirit. Demons are those that reanimate corpses so they could walk among the living, whereas spirits of the dead would not leave their own body.
