Vampires are sometimes considered to be shape-shifters not limited to the common bat stereotype depicted in cartoons and movies. (Rather, vampires are said to morph into a wide variety of animals such as wolves, rats, moths, spiders, and so on).

The pasty pupil must pass the "B.A.T.'s" and turn into a bat to avoid summer school, but his frightful efforts only lead to brief incarnations as a bunny and goat. Meanwhile, half-werewolf/half scaredy-cat Cookie flees from zombie bully Billy while waiting for a full moon to totally transform him. And see- through green ghost Moze wanders the halls - and walks through walls - searching for a kindred spirit.

Vampires command the lesser creatures of the world and once per day can call forth 1d6+1 rat swarms, 1d4+1 bat swarms, or a pack of 3d6 wolves as a standard action. (If the base creature is not terrestrial, this power might summon other creatures of similar power.) These creatures arrive in 2d6 rounds and serve the vampire for up to 1 hour.

Tepes-vampires have a dark magick all their own, originating with Dracula himself. Their abilities are ... limited to turning into mist or wolves or bats and riding a moonbeam. These powers can take twenty-five years and more to manifest in a new Tepes-Vampire, especially if the vampire is not tutored by its sire. Tepes-vampires have a connection to magick and therefore can also use normal magick, but they always use it in a negative manner, in accord with whatever scheme is brewing at the time. They generally will not exhibit practitioner traits as a morph will. Tepes-vampires cannot become practitioners of great general power, but their magick is still formidable in their own area of dark magick.
