Valhalla is a multiplayer map in Halo 3. A from-the-ground-up level, it is said to be 'the new Blood Gulch'. It is a sparsely forested valley with mountains in the distance, featuring a river, rocky outcroppings, and hills. Bungie added these new land features to help balance the action between snipers and on-foot travelers, whereas in Blood Gulch and Coagulation, those players were easy prey.

Par at Valhalla is 72 and the course measuring 7,195 from the gold tees. Jack designed the slick bent grass putting surfaces in typical modern style. They range from medium to large size, averaging 6,500 square feet. Invariably... they are well guarded by hazards, including bunkers, water, scooped-out grassy hollows and mounded swatches of lush bluegrass rough. Without fail, these putting surfaces are undulating and often partitioned into distinct areas making the "large" greens play somewhat small. These green complexes place a premium on creative shotmaking and on skilful chipping and putting.

The Valhalla facility itself is ... unique. The centerpiece is the 360 degree live fire scenario ranges, featuring automated targets and computer controlled light and sound effects. In addition to true live fire in 360 degrees (using frangible ammunition), these ranges are used for Force-on-Force simulation training. These ranges include settings such as a two bedroom home, a nightclub, a bar, park, street scene (w/ car), two stairwells and several hallways. All areas of the scenario ranges have computer controlled lighting which allows varying light levels, including no lights, at any time. These ranges are also designed to allow practice in mechanical, ballistic and (surgical) explosive breaching.

In 1992, Valhalla was named as host of the 1996 PGA Championship. The following year, the PGA of America purchased a 25% interest in the club. After the 1996 PGA Championship, the PGA of America raised its stake to 50%, and announced that the event would return to Valhalla in 2000. At the end of the 2000 event, the PGA of America exercised an option to purchase the remaining interest in the club. Later that year, it announced that the 2008 Ryder Cup would be held at Valhalla.
