The Organizational Flag, U.S. Military Academy has the characteristics of an "office flag" or "display flag." It is never hoisted or carried in parades. The only colours that are ever carried on parade at West Point are the National Colours, the U.S. Corps of Cadets Colours, and for 2002, the USMA Bicentennial Commemorative Flag.

At the U.S. Military Academy, Jebb teaches courses in comparative politics, international security, cultural anthropology and terrorism and counterterrorism. During the 2000-2001 academic year, she served as the USMA Fellow at the Naval War College, where she taught graduate-level courses on strategy and force planning.

The Military Academy's sports teams were historically called The Black Knights of the Hudson, but the nickname has been officially shortened to Black Knights. U.S. sports media use Army as a synonym for the Academy; this usage is officially endorsed. The Army mascot was formerly the Mule, but was changed to the Black Knight in 2000. On Brave Old Army Team is the fight song for the athletic teams.

The first is a drive to renegotiate the U.S. military presence in northeast Asia. This is aimed mainly at ensuring that American forces still will be welcome in South Korea and Japan if the North Korean threat disappears. To that end, the U.S. military will be instructed to act less like post-World War II occupation forces and more like guests or partners.
