   Urban Legend is a 1998 horror film starring Alicia Witt, Jared Leto, Rebecca Gayheart, Robert Englund, Tara Reid, Joshua Jackson, Natasha Gregson Wagner, Michael Rosenbaum, Danielle Harris, John Neville, and Loretta Devine. The film is based on the premise that a killer is using the methods of death described in certain urban legends (such as the fatal mixing of cola and Pop Rocks) as a means to kill his victims.

   Oddly enough, there's a truly chilling and creepy movie out right now that subtly features urban legends to much better effect: Urbania. Seek it out. If that's not playing near you, or you want something more traditionally "scary", there's The Exorcist: The Version You've Never Seen.
7. Urban Legends -- Friend
   One of the most famous cases of a well-intentioned email blitz that morphed into an urban legend involved Craig Shergold. In 1989, Craig was a 10 year old boy hospitalized with a brain tumor. A family friend began a campaign to get him into the Guiness Book of Records for receiving the most post cards, and before long it started spreading by email. Cards began to pour in by the MILLIONS, year after year. Even though Craig was cured in 1991 and his family made public appeals for the cards to stop, their pleas were no match for the power and longevity of the email chain letter.

9. John Legend
   Neo-soul singer and pianist John Legend (real name John Stephens) was a child prodigy who grew up in Ohio, where he began singing gospel and playing piano at the tender age of five. Legend left Ohio at 16 to go to college in Philadelphia, and it was there that he first found a larger audience. Not yet out of his teens, Legend was tapped to play piano on Lauryn Hill's "Everything Is Everything" in 1998. After completing college, he moved to New York, where he began to build a loyal following playing in nightclubs and releasing CDs that he would sell at shows. He ... became an in-demand session musician, playing and occasionally writing for a wide array of artists, including Alicia Keys, Twista, Janet Jackson, and Kanye West.     This might be his first live album for Sony/Columbia Records - and third for the label overall - but John Legend's no stranger to issuing live releases. Between 2001 and 2003, a pre-fame Legend (then known by his real name, John Stephens) released three albums that were recorded at small, intimate venues: Live at Jimmy's Uptown, Live at SOB's and Soul Sessions Vol. 1: Live at the Knitting Factory. So technically, at this point in his career, Stephens/Legend has put out twice as many live albums as studio albums.
