UpLink Pod showing 555 and servos under hatch The Uplink-58 is a sturdy pod and boom hlg designed for discus style launching. It does ... have a sealed finger hole slightly aft of the CG to allow quick turnaround for the shorter (40 seconds or less) portion of ladder type events. The wing has a .013 compositeshear web to keep things together during launch and has a bit of extra glass where you grab it for the discus style launch. The stab is held on with two #4 nylon screws so it will pack in a small place. This very nice T tail feature comes from a Phil Pearson design . The elevator linkage is attributed to Harold Locke. The rudder is almost 50 percent of the total vertical tail surface and provides quick response with low deflection rates and low drag.

Uplink: Hacker Elitescreenshot Actually, if Uplink had been around a few years ago, perhaps Mitnick wouldn't have gotten that knock on the door. The thrill of poking your nose into places that it doesn't belong is certainly satisfied here, courtesy of an often smart design that turns every hack into a mystery waiting to be solved. However, little is provided aside from the break-and-enter tension involved in cracking codes, as you'll spend all your time cracking systems and then terminating the connection before somebody gets wise to your activities. Repetition and production problems make the game less than it could have been, hampering your enjoyment of what amounts to a series of tough logic puzzles.
Uplink focuses on emulating highly stylised, Hollywood-esque hacking, as seen in movies such as Hackers, Sneakers, WarGames and Swordfish. References to these movies can be found throughout the game, including joke servers for companies such as Steve Jackson Games (which has been raided by the Secret Service) and a nuclear missile control system from WarGames. It ... features at least two references to the movie Sneakers. One of which can be found in the first version of the game (and was later removed in an update released by Introversion) which is a cheat code in which the user has to enter TooManySecrets as the username thus allowing him to access a cheat menu. This is a reference to the film Sneakers (an anagram to the phrase "Setec Astronomy")
The columns in Uplink provide valuable pointers for database analysis, software and technology tips, plus success stories written by journalists new to CAR. The issues ... include stories by Database Library staff about its data and resources, plus information on upcoming IRE conferences and other training opportunities.
