Serving the burgeoning Hispanic community - which is growing three times faster than the general population - Univision has industry-leading market share in its television, radio, music and online businesses. Univision then decided to expand news programming in the afternoon and launched "Noticias y Mas" with the before mentioned Nespral and a team of three other anchors: Ambrosio Hernandez, Myrka de Llanos and Raul Peimbert. In 1990, Hernandez bolted for the local Telemundo station, WSCV to anchor its evening news programming, being joined by Peimbert shortly after that being wooed to anchor the new Telemundo evening news. Nespral left to join the weekend edition of the "Today" show leaving De Llanos on the anchor desk by herself. Univision had other plans for the moribund show. They revamped it, changed the name, the theme music and installed a weekend reporter to be De Llanos' partner: Puerto Rican born Maria Celeste Arraras who joined the now tabloid news program called "Primer Impacto".

Univision.com, which has ranked as the #1 website among U.S. Hispanics for two consecutive years, has added 66 new advertisers this year and currently has five times as many advertisers as last year. With these additions, Univision.com`s advertiser base represents more than 80 advertisers, including major corporations such as BancoChase, Bank of America, Citibank, Coke, Pepsi and Verizon. Independent advertising agreements have accounted for approximately 75% of Univision.com`s advertiser growth this year. The remainder is attributed to the growing demand for cross-platform deals that can include Univision`s television, online, and music assets.

Univision Music Group was founded in 2001 by José Behar, the former head of EMI Latin. Behar started the label from scratch and turned it into the leading U.S. Latin label following its acquisition of indie Fonovisa. Today, Univision's roster includes top selling acts such as Marco Antonio Solis, Los Tigres del Norte and Los Temerarios. Although a large bulk of the music group's catalog falls under regional Mexican music, Behar made a concerted effort to diversify his roster, recently bringing in artists like Ivy Queen and Olga Tañón and developing names like Xtreme and Jennifer Pena.
