The University of Vermont (UVM) is a beautiful school in the Green Mountain state that has been able to sustain Metasequoias in a cold, windy climate next to Lake Champlain. Set in Burlington, Vermont, the school was chartered in 1791 with an emphasis on agriculture and life sciences. The campus has many varied and unique botanic species throughout the grounds.

In this role he developed strategies and advocacy positions on video and high-speed data issues, including privacy and negotiated carriage deals with television programmers. Prior to that, Mr. Zinn was Corporate Counsel for Continental Cablevision in Los Angeles, California. Before moving west, Mr. Zinn worked for the law firm of Cole, Raywid & Braverman in Washington, D.C. representing communications clients before federal, state, and local government agencies.

Sandro Galea, an epidemiologist at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, spoke first. His research is heavy on statistical analysis, but his general point seemed to be that the correlation between a surge in misdemeanor arrests in the 1990s (one measurement of tougher policing) could not be used to explain the the drop in homicide (a major example of crime reduction) once variations among different neighborhoods are taken into account.

The University of California's president needs more aides with business-management expertise to improve how the system is run, the chairman of its Board of Regents said on Wednesday. The remarks came during the State Senate's second hearing on the compensation paid to some senior managers and the university's failure to disclose some pay packages.
