Graduate Student Programs: The University of Toronto offers many programs and services targeted to graduate students. The Graduate Student Initiative is specifically designed by Student Services to offer workshops, social events and online resources to enhance the graduate student experience. The Graduate Students’ Union and the Office of Students Affairs have created Grad Escapes to encourage graduate students to meet other graduate students and enjoy the many highlights of the city of Toronto. Graduate students interested in improving their teaching skills can do so through a variety of training course for graduated students in university teachings. The English Language and Writing Service offers individual consultations, single-session workshops, and non-credit courses for both native and non-native speakers of English.

A new study from the University of Colorado at Boulder suggests that casual walking may prove more beneficial than vigorous exercise for obese individuals, resulting in more calories burned per mile and a reduced risk of injury to the joints. Doctoral student Ray Browning and his colleagues examined 40 men and women-- 20 of average weight and 20 considered obese. They found that the obese individuals who walked at a slower pace for a longer period of time diminished stiffness in their joints and burned a greater number of calories than their counterparts.

Bouldin knows that he can't be in all locations all the times he's needed, so he's developed another collaboration with the University of Tennessee to use its telemedicine capabilities. "This way, I can meet with the staff of the clinics in the Delta once a week and go over patient records with them or discuss any problems they may have encountered."
