Jonathan Yevin, a graduate of New York University, has had his writing contributions grace the pages of many magazines - from laddy Stuff to manny Men's Fitness. While still in high school, Yevin landed his first pieces within the smart, funny and fearless pages of Spy Magazine, until they were obliged to hire him on staff. Until now, the dominant hypothesis of the cause of diabetes in mice and humans deficient in PERK was developed by Heather Harding and David Ron, of New York University Medical Center, in 2001. They suggested that too much proinsulin in the endoplasmic reticulum triggers a stress response and causes many beta cells to die. The shortage of beta cells in PERK-deficient mice was thought to be caused by a high death rate of those cells.

Stephan Pfann (president of Jerusalem's University of the Holy Land) points out that the commonality of these names suggests that the probability is much lower. "Remarkably, a mere 16 of the 72 personal names [found on ossuaries] account for 75% of the inscribed names." Among these "top 16" names are Mary, Joseph, Jesus, Matthew, and Judas.[38]
