The University of Richmond’s psychology program is one of the premier programs of its kind in the country. Faculty members have national reputations for teaching and research. They hold editorial positions for leading psychology journals, publish in the most highly acclaimed journals in psychology and neuroscience, receive prestigious research grants and have won Outstanding Faculty Awards from the Virginia State Council of Higher Education. All forms should be filled in completely and turned in together with a deposit check made payable to University of Richmond. The packet should be turned in to the receptionist at the Special Programs Building, 2nd floor. The Agreement Release Form requires parent/guardian signatures in two places. Applications will not be accepted without parent/guardian signature even if you are over the age of 18.

Graduates of an accredited U.S. two-year or four-year college, university or nursing program may be eligible after meeting ASFS requirements, including verification of employment beginning within 90 days of finance approval. The Baldwin idea was loosely patterned after a program at the University of Richmond, one of a growing number of institutions that tailor support programs to women. The University of Michigan and University of Wisconsin have such programs, and last fall, N.C. State University kicked off its Women In Science and Engineering initiative, known as WISE.

A major enhancement to the university’s scientific resources occurred with the dedication of the Gottwald Center for the Sciences in 2006. The $37 million Gottwald expansion provides state of the art facilities for departments and programs in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Studies, Neuroscience, Physics, and Pre-Health.
