Barely into its second year of operation, Addrenex has signed a licensing agreement with UNeMed Corporation, the technology transfer arm of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The partnership will widely expand Addrenex's drug pipeline from a single product to myriad drugs aimed at medical conditions as diverse as hypertension, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), pain, menopausal symptoms, insomnia, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Duke University will limit the number of factories that are permitted to manufacture merchandise and apparel with the university’s name and logo on it, university officials announced Monday. Duke administrators said the move would make it easier for the university and anti-sweatshop groups to monitor working conditions in the factories that produce Duke-themed material.
Richard Payne, MD, is Immediate Past President of the American Pain Society, Professor of Medicine and Director, End of Life Care Institute at Duke University. Dr. Payne has published over 200 manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters. He is Chairman of the Task Force on Pain of the American Academy of Neurology and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Pain Society.
The University of Nebraska location is under the direction of Kevin Garvin, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. Under terms of the agreement, Todd Sekundiak, M.D., assistant professor of orthopaedics, will train orthopaedic surgeons to use Zimmer's minimally invasive technologies and participate in MIS product refinement. The university will function as a Zimmer Institute teaching facility and will become a Center of Excellence for MIS patient care.
In 1993 a group of faculty members at the University of Nebraska - Kearney created a comprehensive reference guide to the Big Bend Region of the Platte River. The 194 page Atlas includes sections covering history, biology, climate, settlement patterns, economic conditions, art, literature, language, water law, agricultural issues and recreational opportunities. Beautiful color photographs, detailed maps, and local information references make the Atlas a useful tool for tourists, hunters, or other visitors to the region.
