Universal Serial Bus: Usb Revision

The Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an industry-standard extension to the PC architecture for PC peripherals. The USB is a cable bus that supports data exchange between a host computer and a wide range of simultaneously accessible peripherals. The attached peripherals share USB bandwidth through a host-scheduled, token-based protocol. The bus allows peripherals to be attached, configured, used, and detached while the host and other peripherals are in operation. The USB does not support USB devices (peripherals) to communicate among each other. Only the host can initiate device -> host or host -> device transactions.

Universal Serial Bus (USB) is an external bus standard that supports data transfer rates of 12 Mbps. A single USB port can be used to connect up to 127 peripheral devices, such as mice, modems, and keyboards. USB ... supports Plug-and-Play installation and hot plugging. A USB system has an asymmetric design, consisting of a host controller and multiple devices connected in a tree-like fashion using special hub devices. There is a limit of 5 levels of branching hubs per controller.

Called the SV92U2, this Universal Serial Bus (USB)-based modem chipset makes it possible to reduce desktop PC bus sizes by 80 percent by eliminating the need for Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI)-based modems. In addition to cost and size reductions, the smaller-sized bus makes it possible to produce easier-to-use PCs for consumers.
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) offers the advantages of a multiplatform standard combined with decreased cost, increased compatibility, and a greater number of available peripherals. USB supports up to 127 devices and is "hot pluggable."

A USB Type A cable Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a "serial bus" for connecting devices. It is most used on PCs but can ... be used on other devices such as the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. USB can be used as a power device for charging things and making use of gadgets (lights, fans). Most people use USB for mice, keyboards, scanners, printers, digital cameras, and flash drives. Approximately, there are over one billion USB devices around the world.
