World Tribune 5/6/99 "...The United States and Libya are engaged in secret talks in an effort to improve relations after nearly 20 years of enmity, an Arab newspaper reported on Wednesday. The Saudi-owned A-Sharq al-Awsat said on Wednesday that Libyan and U.S. representatives are holding secret talks in Italy to normalize relations. They said the talks were arranged by Egypt. The effort began last month after Libya handed over two suspects in the 1989 TWA bombing for trial in the Hague. Most of the 270 passengers killed in the bombing were Americans...."

Regrettably, due to supporters of Israel within the United States, DOJ has been used as a bludgeon to criminalize and destroy the Palestinian national movement ("PNM") here at home. The results are evident to anyone: Palestinian nationalism is stronger today than at any time in the past. The United States' Middle East standing has never been lower. Israel has never been more endangered. To quote Pogo, "We have met the enemy, and he is us." America has steadfastly been its own worst enemy in the Middle East.

Senator Allard served in the U.S. House of Representatives from Colorado’s 4th Congressional District from 1991 to 1996, when he was elected to the United States Senate. As a Colorado Congressman, Allard served on the Joint Committee on Congressional Reform, which recommended many of the reforms that were incorporated into the Contract with America. These reforms were among the first legislative items passed by the Republican controlled Congress in 1995. Senator Allard was re-elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002.

The horse industry in the United States contributes $39 billion in direct economic impact to the US economy and supports 1.4 million jobs on a full-time basis, according to a new study released today by the American Horse Council (AHC). When indirect and induced spending are included, the industry's economic impact reaches $102 billion. The study ... estimates the horse population in this country has reached 9.2 million.

The United States of America has a somewhat unique relationship with war. While America is considered to be the most militarily powerful country in the world today, Americans as a whole have never experienced war in the way that many other countries of the world have. There is a huge disparity between the American experience of war and the global experience. This may have an impact on American attitudes towards war
