Unilever PLC is a worldwide supplier of consumer goods in foods, household care and personal product categories. Since January 2001, the Company's operations have been organized into two global divisions, Foods and Home & Personal Care. This structure allows for improved focus on its division's activities at both the regional and global levels. Unilever plc announced that it plans to combine its home and personal care and food divisions into a single category. In addition its Western European operations will become a standalone region while Central and Eastern Europe will be managed alongside Asia and Africa to reflect its focus on growth in developing markets. The company announced that Kees van der Graaf, president of the European region and Ralph Kugler, president of the home and personal care division will step down at its annual meeting. The company announced that Harish Manwani will lead the expanded emerging markets region and Vindi Banga will run the home, personal care and food division.

Unilever plc is going to introduce Persil with Microcapsules, revealed Talking Retail. The new formulation will be introduced to Persil Bio gel tablets and powders as well. The formula reportedly locks fragrance microcapsules into the fibers of the clothes when they are washed. These microcapsules then burst upon movement.
