"Twin Peaks" Stunning and explosive, completely misunderstood by many when it ran from 1990-1991 and definitely trail-blazing for the art of television production, "Twin Peaks" is one of those could-have-been, should-have-been television series that ended up being remarkable anyway. A teenage girl (Sheryl Lee) is murdered. A strange police detective (Kyle MacLachlan) is brought in to solve the mystery as the local police just cannot cope with the crime. Strange situations continue to pop up all over the landscape of the titled Pacific Northwestern town though and it becomes sadly apparent that the crime will likely never be solved. Side-stories galore confuse and intrigue and the viewer is left wondering, "Does this have anything to do with the initial crime?". Then just when you think the puzzle is about solved, total chaos strikes with whacked dream sequences that make you question your own sanity.

The Twin Peaks are 2 large rocky outcrops nestled above Eklutna Lake. Twin Pass is the actual destination of the hike - to the right of the peaks - although the eastern peak can be climbed from the pass. The trail to the pass starts alongside the lake. From there it winds its way up through several switch-backs along a forested mountainside. Eventually, a bench is reached with a particularly good view of the lake. The trail then begins to curve around the northern side of the mountain, and the peaks should come into view.

As the name implies, Twin Peaks has two summits, although they are hardly twins. The west summit is the high point at 12,323', which makes it slightly higher than its more famous neighbor, Matterhorn Peak (12,279'). The north side of Twin Peaks falls away in a series of cliffs and couloirs to the head of Horse Creek Canyon, which drains down in the R.V. hellhole known as Mono Village (at Twin Lakes). The south side of Twin Peaks is a jumble of nifty looking pinnacles and tedious talus slopes that drop down to Virginia Canyon. The south ridge connects to Virginia Peak.

On the morning of February 24th, in the town of Twin Peaks, Washington state, lumberjack Pete Martell discovers a naked corpse tightly wrapped in a sheet of clear plastic on the bank of a river. Following the arrival of Sheriff Harry S. Truman, his deputies, and Dr. Will Hayward on the scene, the body is discovered to be that of homecoming queen Laura Palmer, the most popular girl at the local high school. The news spreads among the town's residents, particularly Laura's family and friends. Meanwhile, just across the state line, a second girl, Ronette Pulaski, is found walking along the railroad tracks in a fugue state. Since Ronette was discovered across the state line, FBI Agent Dale Cooper is called in to investigate. Cooper's initial examination of Laura's body reveals a tiny typed letter 'R' inserted under her fingernail.
The story begins with the murder of Laura Palmer, a teen aged girl who lived in the quiet town of Twin Peaks, near the US - Canadian borders. Everyone seems surprised and devastated by the girl's murder, and the town's sherif welcomes the help of FBI agent Dale Cooper, who comes to investigate the case. As Cooper begins his search for Laura's killer, the town's secrets are gradually exposed. This is definitely not an average quiet town, it seems as everyone has something big to hide.

DVD Movies & Tv Shows on DVD Premiered on April 8, 1990, Twin Peaks was launched in the tv as a monumental drama that aired on ABC from 19901991, that influenced numerous television series from Northern Exposure to The X-Files. The show begins with Special Agent Dale Cooper of the FBI arriving in the small town of Twin Peaks, WA, to investigate the murder of a popular high school girl named Laura Palmer. What he doesn't know is, in town of Twin Peaks, no one is innocent. The series proved to be more than just an engaging soap opera or juicy murder mystery after the loyal audiences waited to find out what was the real cause of death of Laura. The dark supernatural subject matter was offset by moments of absurd humor, and the haunting musical score from Angelo Badalamenti was well suited to the cinematically rendered images. The creators succeeded in blending a very human drama into a humorous and entertaining crime show against a small-town background of eccentric characters and places.
