2. Matchbox Twenty -- Band
   The title of Matchbox Twenty's best-of collection, EXILE ON MAINSTREAM, seems to be an acknowledgement, ironic or not, of the band's entrenched status as kings of commercial pop-rock. As the 11 mega-hits compiled here prove, though, the band has a right to be proud. The disc plays like a trip down the main drag of radio-friendly alt rock in the 1990s, with such ubiquitous classics as "Push," "3 a.m.," and "Real World" included.
3. Rob Thomas -- Matchbox Twenty
   Something To Be, the first solo album from Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas, has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the singer and group, but keenly dreaded by many others. Let’s get it straight right now: Rob Thomas does not have a good singing voice. If there are two major things wrong with Matchbox 20, they are 1) the music and 2) the lead vocalist. Thomas does have a very distinctive and strong voice, but too often it is not suited to the surrounding music.
4. Matchbox Twenty -- Albums
   -Rolling Stone's annual reader's poll -- proof that, even if Matchbox Twenty wasn't winning critics, it was winning over a wide, mainstream audience. The band and its debut album continued to sell at a steady pace throughout the year, as the singles "Real World" and "Back 2 Good" joined "Push" and "3am" as radio favorites. Throughout it all, Matchbox Twenty stayed on the road, at home and abroad. They did well in foreign territories, including Canada, but they truly connected with Australia, where they went platinum eight times; in neighboring New Zealand, the band went quintuple platinum.
5. Matchbox Twenty -- Rob Thomas
   Matchbox Twenty’s success came slowly. Florida singer and songwriter Rob Thomas hooked up with bassist Brian Yale, drummer Paul Doucette, and later guitar and vocalist Adam Gaynor and lead guitarist Kyle Cook in the mid-90s. Their debut “Yourself or Someone Like You” was released in October of ’96. The record didn’t make an initial splash, but the album kept selling. By 2000 it had gone platinum ten times without ever topping the charts. Four years later, “Mad Season” came out, followed by “More Than You Think You Are.”
6. First Amendment to the United States Constitution -- Twenty-First Amendment

7. Formula One -- Formula One World Championship
   In the early years of Formula One, before the world championship was established, there were around twenty races held from late Spring to early Autumn (Fall) in Europe, although not all of these were considered significant. Most competitive cars came from Italy, particularly Alfa Romeo. After the start of the world championship these non-championship races continued. In the 1950s and 1960s, there were many Formula One races which did not count for the World Championship (e.g., in 1950, a total of twenty-two Formula One races were held, of which only six counted towards the World Championship). In 1952 and 1953, when the world championship was run for Formula Two cars, a full season of non-championship Formula One racing took place. Some races, particularly in the UK, including the Race of Champions, Oulton Park International Gold Cup and International Trophy, were attended by the majority of the world championship contenders.
8. No One Lives Forever
   The star of No One Lives Forever isn't James Bond as you would imagine, but rather a very sexy lady called Cate Archer. She's a former cat burglar who is now working for Unity, the secret agency who is trying to stop the evil organization, HARM. This game, as previously mentioned, is primarily a First Person Shooter, but the developers have concentrated on the single player experience, and for the most part it works quite well. While the levels are still fairly linear they are no where near as restrictive as Electronic Arts' recent Medal Of Honor Frontline. There are plenty of secrets to find, different routes to take and even different ways of completing missions. It's still not free roaming, or up to the freedom of Deus Ex, but it's certainly better the most.
9. Capital One -- Companies
   Overall, Capital One's reputation on Wall Street and within the industry remained solid. During 2001, the company ranked high on a number of "best places to work" lists. The company was ... proud of its commitment to community. Following the September 11 attacks on the United States, thousands of Capital One employees volunteered to set up phone systems and then receive calls for the largest telethon in history, helping raise money for disaster relief.
10. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest -- Nurse Ratched
    Despite the counterculture themes of the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was a popular and critical success. Dale Wasserman adapted the novel into a two act play in 1974, while Milos Forman directed a successful film adaptation of the novel the following year. This film, recently named as one of the twenty greatest films by the American Film Institute, featured Jack Nicholson as R.P. McMurphy and Louise Fletcher as Nurse Ratched. The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture and gained awards for Nicholson and Fletcher. It remains only one of three films to sweep the top five categories at the Oscars.
