These pilots became the fist members of the International Association of Turtles. Knowing the way of the military they would all be split up soon and they would all actively recruit new members. So they came up with a way for Turtles to identify each other.

Sea turtles have been known to move through the water as fast as 35 mph. When active, sea turtles swim to the surface every few minutes in order to breathe. When sleeping or resting, which usually occurs at night, adult sea turtles can remain underwater for more than 2 hours without breathing. Juvenile sea turtles have not developed this ability as well as adults and must sleep afloat at the water's surface.

Along with snakes, lizards, and crocodiles, turtles belong to the class of animals called reptiles. The earliest fossils recognized as turtles are about 200 million years old and date from the time when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Turtles have changed little in appearance since that time.

There is no offence if turtles are caught accidentally in fishing gear. Nor is it an offence to help turtles if entangled or stranded, or temporarily to hold dead turtles for later examination by experts.
