Do You Dig Destruction - Turbonegro are supposed to be the first Norwegian band to premiere with a new single that can be downloaded to mobile phones. The story: the Norwegian telecommunication company Telenor offers a free download of the new Turbonegro song "Do You Do You Dig Destruction?" (lifted from their forthcoming album) to all Telenor customers, just send a sms saying "musikk" to the number 2244.
Previous to this, Turbonegro only had an unconditional love from the working class, since only they could understand and emotionally relate to their expressions and desires. In the early days Turbongreo was dangerous, but now there was a real threat to their symbolic power. Something had to be done, and what was more natural then to consecrate the ass-rocket.

While Scandinavian Leather was recorded at their own Crystal Canyon Studio in Oslo, Turbonegro decided to bring in Steven Shane McDonald as co-producer for Party Animals. McDonald played bass and sang in Hawthorne, California band Redd Kross from the age of 11, and "Standing in front of Poseur" from the bands 1979 debut EP is still a punk rock classic. Redd Kross transformed from being an archetypical L.A.-punk band to taking in influences from the glam and stadium rock of the seventies, not unlike what Turbonegro has done through their career. In recent years McDonald has worked with artists such as Beck and The White Stripes. On Party Animals, he's done his best to keep the bubblegum intact in the stadium rock and the sharp edged punk rock. This follow-up to 2003’s Scandinavian Leather and the last offering in the Apocalypse trilogy was released throughout Europe on the 9th of May (Norway 2nd of May).

In 1997, Turbonegro recorded Apocalypse Dudes, which was released in the U.S. by Man's Ruin in early 1999. However, the group had broken up at the end of 1998; Darkness Forever!, a selection of live performances from the band's final year, was released in early 2001. The breakup... was short-lived, and Turbonegro were back for tour dates in 2002, followed by the release of Scandinavian Leather in 2003. A handful of northern European dates coincided the release of the band's seventh album, Party Animals, in 2005. A collection of remixes appeared in 2006 as Small Feces, Vol. 1, with the full-length Retox arriving in 2007. ~ Alex Henderson, All Music Guide
