The Tulsa Drillers are the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies major league baseball team. Some of the top players in baseball have played for the Drillers on their way to the big leagues, including league MVPs Sammy Sosa, Ivan (Pudge) Rodriguez, and Juan Gonzales. And Drillers Stadium, the largest ballpark in Double-A, is only two miles from campus.

The Tulsa Drillers are a minor league baseball team based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The team, which plays in the Texas League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies major-league club. The Drillers play in Drillers Stadium, located at 15th and Yale in midtown Tulsa.
Tulsa Drillers president and owner Chuck Lamson will be discussing the status of the new ballpark for the Drillers. In addition, Chuck will discuss special elements and features that will make a new ballpark a true treasure for all people in the Tulsa community. Chuck Lamson joined the Tulsa Drillers front office in a sales capacity during his playing days in the off season of 1980 and 1981 and became full time groundskeeper in 1982. He served as assistant general manager for 11 years and was named executive vice president and general manager in 1995. In 2006 he purchased controlling interest in the team. Lamson has a B.S. from Langston University and played for the Drillers for three years.

Tulsa Drillers coach Mike Coolbaugh, a 1990 Roosevelt High School graduate, died Sunday, July 22nd 2007, after being struck in the head by a line drive as he stood in the first-base coach's box during a game with Arkansas. Mike had just signed on to be a coach for the Tulsa Drillers team recently. He was a very well known athlete at TR and was in the pros, including the St. Louis Cardinals, during his career. TRx and TR and the whole community mourns his loss greatly.

Urban Tulsa Weekly Rocktober has been kind to the Tulsa Drillers parent organization. Yes, the Drillers have proved to be the breeding ground for the Rockies immensely talented roster. They've filled their roster with All-Star caliber players over the past few years.
