Tron 2.0: Weapons
built 278 days ago
In the audio department Tron 2.0 is almost equally impressive. The sounds of weapons, light cycles, ambient noise and even your own footsteps are all movie-perfect. The musical soundtrack contains a bit of Wendy Carlos’ original work as well as new music. It all just fits very well.

On the surface, Tron 2.0 plays like every first person shooter you’ve played before. You’ve got a green energy bar that you use for non-disc weapons, and a red health bar that you use to absorb damage.

Besides its iconic weapon and one-of-a-kind graphics, TRON 2.0 differs from other shooters in its attention to detail and character management. Opponents can carry computer viruses that may infect your sub-routines or corrupt open memory slots, necessitating ongoing maintenance to keep your “build” in operating condition. Genre clichés such as keys — called “permissions” in the TRON universe — get a makeover thanks to TRON 2.0’s alternate-universe setting, which requires you to use them in combinations to open new areas or extra permission boxes.
