Once a year the Troll is a host to an artistic party every October 31st called Trollaween. The party starts at the Troll and winds its way down to the heart of the Fremont. Along the way artistic installations, fire puppets and performance art pieces, many which involve the use of fire in the performance, are set up for all to enjoy.

Troll & Armor is a cross-genre action adventure game that mixes in elements from several other types of games. The title revolves around guiding companion characters through puzzles, managing resources, and claiming territories. Meanwhile the main character must fend off angry monsters in fast paced action sequences. Troll & Armor is currently slated for release in March of 2009.

Strangely, after all of these years, Troll 2 is making a recent resurgence and gaining off-beat underground popularity. The film has spurred fan sites, music videos, invitation-only dress-up dinner parties, audience participation screenings, drinking games, remixed songs, and even dance moves - but mention the title and most people will have never heard of it.

Despite the fact that it has a taste for Volkswagen Beetles, the Troll is very well loved even by Volkswagen owners. It keeps a watch over much of Fremont. Few things happen without the Troll finding out.

The use of the word "troll" in this phrase is a sly linguistic trick. On the one hand, it contains the sense of the fishing activity in which a baited line is dragged through water, usually from the back of a slow moving boat. On the other hand, it ... refers to a being from the old Scandinavian legends that's usually depicted as a dwarf (although sometimes as a giant) that lives in a cave or under a bridge. (Both senses date from the 17th century.)
