Established as an ensemble of international musicians, New Trinity Baroque maintains this presence through working closely with U.S. and international artists. Music does not have any boundaries, and with this as its vision, New Trinity Baroque is confident in finding its steady place in the world’s distinguished early music community. The ensemble’s members perform on period instruments, specializing in music of the 17th and 18th centuries. The size of the performing group depends on the repertoire. Their performances range from chamber to orchestral, from cantatas to operas…
Trinity Baroque was founded at Trinity College, Cambridge, where it soon established itself as a key figure in the development of the early music scene. It gained an unprecedented following with its use of historical performance practice in major baroque works, and by devising programmes that brought together diverse early and folk music to create semi-theatrical “celebrations” of a particular theme or season.
NEW TRINITY BAROQUE was founded in London, United Kingdom, by Predrag Gosta, at the time when he was completing his postgraduate studies at Trinity College of Music. Soon after its debut at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in March of 1998, and after the ensemble’s founder and director moved to the United States, New Trinity Baroque continued its mission based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Now focused around a core of six singers, Trinity Baroque continues to explore the music of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods, and programmes with quirky combinations of sacred and secular music have become the group’s hallmark. It has developed its reputation in the UK and abroad, appearing at festivals in London, York, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Germany, and Palma Mallorca.
