Rising star, Trevor Immelman claimed his second victory in three weeks on the South African Sunshine Tour with a one-stroke victory in the Dimension Data Pro-Am at Sun City last Sunday. Immelman's two victories in 2003 have both occurred on Gary Player designed courses – the South African Open at Erinvale early in January and last week's championship played at both the Gary Player Country Club (ranked number 1) and the Lost City golf course . This week's tournament, The Tour Championship, is being played at Leopard Creek - ... a Gary Player design (owned by Swiss luxury goods magnet Johann Rupert of Richemont) hidden in the breathtaking wild animal countryside of Mpumalanga , adjacent to the Kruger National Park . This will mark the last tournament of the Sunshine Tour's 2002/3 season. Can Trevor Immelman go three for three? According to the young professional, his performances over the last few weeks have convinced him that his game is now at a level where he can compete with the best in the world.

Editor's note: Trevor Immelman is playing in his fourth U.S. Open this week. The young South African, who won his first PGA TOUR event last year, tied for 21st at Winged Foot last year. He had three top-10s in his first seven events this year before contracting a stomach ailment after the Masters that caused him to lose more than 20 pounds. He's slowly regained his strength, though, and Immelman is anxious to test his game at Oakmont.
