built 814 days ago

Trevor Immelman and Rory Sabbatini put together a workmanlike 1-over-par 73 Sunday and won handily in the 49th World Cup. They finished the 72-hole tournament at 13-under 275, four strokes ahead of England, which vaulted from sixth to second with a closing 67.
Immelman turned professional in 1999. In 2000 he played mainly on the second tier professional tour in Europe, the Challenge Tour, and finished tenth on the Order of Merit. He became a full member of the European Tour in 2001 and has made the top twenty of the Order of Merit three times. He has three wins on the European Tour, and in 2004 became the first man to successfully defend the South African Open title since Gary Player in the 1970s.
CROMWELL — Trevor Immelman owes his exempt status on the PGA Tour to a berth on the 2005 Presidents Cup International Team. He aims to keep that status the old-fashioned way: by winning a Tour event.

Trevor married his childhood sweetheart, Carmenita, on December 6th, 2003. He withdrew from the 2006 Open Championship to be with her for the birth of their first child. He finished 2006 in the top 10 of the PGA Tour money list and was named Rookie of the Year.
Immelman got married on the 6th of December to Carmenita, his childhood sweetheart. His first child came right in the 2006 Open Championship and he had to leave the competition to be home for the birth. Perhaps 2006 was a great contender then for his best year too, because he got into the top ten of the PGA Tour money list and got the title Rookie of the Year.
