The trademark registration can be renewed with the Intellectual Property Department of the MOC and can be executed 6 months before the trademark’s validity expires. A formal renewal must be signed by the owner or an authorized representative.

To apply for renewal of a trademark registration, an application for renewal of trademark registration should be filed with the Trademark Office. Upon approval granted by the Trademark Office, a certificate to that effect will be issued to the registrant and the renewal will be announced.

If the applicant for registration of a trademark or patent is not residing in Iran, he must choose a known and distinct address in Tehran, or designate another person residing in Tehran, competent to receive all notifications concerning trademarks and inventions. This said duty rests upon a person not residing in Iran who opposes a trademark or a letters patent.
