OXNARD, Calif. - Pacific Coast Motorsports (PCM), 2004 Toyota Atlantic Series champions, has announced it has purchased a GTO.R race car from Pratt & Miller Engineering. PCM will enter its new GTO.R in the GT class of the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series starting with either the Mexico City or Homestead race events. The team - which ... campaigns the #89 Playboy/Vonage/Palms Pontiac Riley in the Daytona Prototype class of the Rolex Series - intends to run the production-based GTO.R throughout the remainder of the 2006 Rolex season.

A two-time winner in Toronto and Montreal in the Toyota Atlantic series and fourth overall in the standings, Bessette was awarded the most prestigious honor after the series title. McAtee Motorsports, which competed in the Star Mazda series for the last three years, will run both Kyle Kelley and Brian McAtee in the Atlantic series this season. The team is owned by Brian’s father, Dale McAtee – a veteran of more than 30 years in motorsports.

The old versions are still very much used in national level rallying (Corolla GT), and Toyota Atlantic series. The VVT version is so far only available in Japan. The earliest (up to late 87 or so) 4A-GE stock bottom end is only good for about 160-180hp. Stock fuel system is good for 150-160hp. Over 200hp is possible, but expensive.
