Top Gun playing fields are the closest fields to the Brisbane CBD and are located on the north side of Brisbane at Keppera. These fields have been developed by tournament players over the last 17 years and are fully established.

Top Gun ... spawned a number of video games for various platforms. The original game was released in 1987 under the same title as the film. It was released on five platforms in total: PC, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) (with an equivalent version for Nintendo's "VS." arcade cabinets). In the game, the player pilots an F-14 Tomcat fighter, and has to complete four missions. A sequel, Top Gun: The Second Mission, was released for the NES three years later.

Top Gun for Nintendo DS takes a look at the danger and excitement that awaits every pilot at the Navy's prestigious fighter weapons school. Top Gun players enter as rookie pilots, selected along with a handful of other pilots for elite training at the US Navy's Fighter Weapons School. To become the best fighter pilot in the world players must to go head to head with the best of enemy fighter pilots.

The Top Gun program was launched in the fall of 1992 with twenty-four men, meeting in two groups of twelve, for nine months. Sixteen of the original twenty-four men teamed up as co-leaders to lead eight Top Gun groups the following fall. By 1995, approximately 150 men were involved at Elmbrook Church and another 300 at twenty-five other churches.

The 2005 Top Gun event was held at the Lakeland Linder Airport in Lakeland Florida April 28 through May 1. Georgia Jets members Craig Gottschang and Gordon Dickens competed in this year’s event with Craig winning the Pro-Am Sportsman Class and Gordon finishing ninth in the Pro-Am Pro Class. Several other Georgia Jets members were in attendance including Mike Pascoe, James Moody and Paul McCaulley. It was a great weekend!
