Tonya Harding: Nancy Kerrigan
built 121 days ago
Tonya Harding is a notorious example of a nude Internet celebrity because of a "Wedding Video" that shows her having sex with her ex-husband Jeff Gillooly on several occasions. Gillooly (who, not long after the scandal began to fade from prominence, changed his name to "Jeff Stone") sold the tape to a tabloid show after having been implicated as a conspirator in the Kerrigan attack. Stills from the tape were published by Penthouse in September 1994, and the tape itself was released at about the same time.

A month before the 1994 XVII Olympic Winter Games were celebrated in 1994 in Lillehammer, Norway, Tonya Harding's ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly hired Shane Stant to club fellow female figure skater Nancy Kerrigan in the knee. In the end Nancy Kerrigan went on to win the silver medal, behind Oksana Baiul of Ukraine. Tonya Harding finished 8th and received probation after pleading guilty to conspiracy to hinder prosecution and was banned from competitive figure skating for life by the U.S. Figure Skating Association.

In 1994, former Olympic ice skater Tonya Harding was convicted for her role in a cover-up surrounding the plot to injure Nancy Kerrigan, Harding's skating competitor. Harding was ... charged with throwing a hubcap in her boyfriend's face.

Tonya Harding then Tonya Harding brought competitive instinct to new highs (or lows) by having a gang of thugs club rival figure skater Nancy Kerrigan during the 1994 Olympic Trials. She ended up plea bargaining to avoid prison and was eventually stripped of her title and banned from figure skating for life (in the Olympics that year Kerrigan won silver and Harding finished 8th).

For a change, Tonya Harding will not be front-and-center. Rather, she'll be in the audience Thursday, Feb. 21, when "Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera" opens at Portland's World Trade Center. The world-class-figure-skater-turned-boxer plans to attend the rock opera's premiere, Linda Lewis, her manager, said. Harding is expected to stick around afterward for a meet-n-greet and photo opportunities with the audience -- though it'll cost 'em.
