Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the Nintendo 64 features a total of six songs. Oddly enough Edge of Reality has forgone MP3 technology for oddly cut-up tracks of the true songs. Songs like "Bring the Noise" are butchered into instrumentals and basically just the chorus. The other five songs follow the same pattern. The sound effects are just as varied as before only there are a lot more now. Whether you slam into a fence, pick up a subway coin, or kickflip over a bum the sound effect is appropriate.

Tony02-01.jpg (6368 bytes) Graphically, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series has never looked better than in THPS3. On the PC, the great graphics are touched up a bit and look even better. The characters look extra smooth and their faces are especially clear. Textures on ramps, floor and walls are just a touch sharper than in the console versions, with some being more noticeably improved than others. Overall, the PC version looks better than the console versions. Of course, that is to be expected thanks to the considerably more powerful hardware.

Bigger than the first sequel, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 fills more bands into the list of a wide variety of different music tastes. From rap/soul you get singers like Redman and Xzibit, in old-school rock/metal there's the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Motorhead, and in Punk, it's The Ramones. And really, these songs aren't your new age listening. Each song is a select style of which skaters prefer. If you're into skating at all, these are probably the bands that you'd like to listen to. It really all depends on the individual player's choice.
