Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2: Levels
built 198 days ago
Some levels in Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 are designed for the player to complete a set number of tasks in two minutes. Such tasks include finding the S-K-A-T-E letters, high scores and finding a hidden tape somewhere in the level. Each of the non-competition levels contain ten tasks for a player to do, each task rewarding a player with cash. Cash is ... scattered around the levels in order for players to find, increasing the use for replaying a level. Once a player has enough cash, they can continue on to a new level. The other type of levels are competition levels.

The single-player modes found within Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 consist of Career Mode, Single Session and Free Skate. Starting as a novice skater, the Career Mode focuses on improving skills and earning money. Once you've obtained some cash, you can purchase additional tricks, equipment, and increase statistics; your overall earnings will ... unlock new levels and challenges.

The difficulty in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is all within the tricks you try. Each level gets harder and harder to perform your tricks, but there is no set Degree of Difficulty. And pulling off a 900 Olley with a little bit of flare shouldn't take too long to pull off.

Now you can cruise through LA without loading levels or stopping gameplay in Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. You can skate or BMX through a new story mode that takes you through all-new skate areas using tricks that have never appeared in previous Tony Hawk games.

You can ride as Tony Hawk or as 12 other pro skaters in diverse skate parks. In each level, you must complete a number of challenges, which range from pulling off a sick trick to collecting items scattered throughout the area. And don't expect to see the sharp visuals and or hear the outstanding sounds found in other "Tony Hawk" games. Without any new features and having less-than-average sights and sounds, "THPS2" is worth playing only if you haven't already experienced the series' remarkable gameplay style.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is again a splendid port. The problem of getting used to the perspective is something that the player must overcome personally, as the game itself is not to be missed. This is an addictive, engaging and downright impressive title, ideal for a quick burn on the tube or bus, and exploring the fabulously designed levels at length adds untold longevity to the equation.
