Allstar reported that Britney Spears, Ricky Martin, Toni Braxton, Jennifer Lopez, Martina McBride, and SheDaisy head the initial list of performers for the 28th Annual American Music Awards, set for Jan. 8, 2001. Spears will open the show, which airs live on ABC, with her current hit, "Stronger"; Lopez will perform her upcoming single, "Love Don't Cost a Thing," which she debuted at the 2000 MTV Europe Awards earlier this month; Martin offers "She Bangs"; and McBride will croon on "It's My Time."
