Kenny seems more immersed in the role than ever. First, there was the big-screen "SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" two years ago. Now, he's soaking up the spotlight for three events - Nickelodeon's "The Best Day Ever," a 24-hour marathon of fans' favorite SpongeBob episodes that begins Thursday night at 8; a new episode titled "The Best Day Ever" Friday at 7:30 p.m.; and the release of a new SpongeBob CD titled, surprise, "The Best Day Ever," a blend of songs performed by Kenny and other cast members as a rock group called SpongeBob and the High Seas. Kenny, who ... voices SpongeBob's meowing pet snail Gary, co-wrote the songs with producer Andy Paley and he penned comic bits between each number. Also doing musical riffs on the album are such big fish as Brian Wilson, Tommy Ramone and Flaco Jimenez. The result is a formula as winning as the Krabby Patty secret recipe.

[T]here was little career to be had if Kenny stayed in Syracuse. He bagged groceries at Price Chopper for six years, before leaving for Boston and eventually San Francisco. His comedy evolved into impressions and sketch work, and he auditioned for Saturday Night Live, where was a finalist when the show had two openings, which were filled by David Spade and Rob Schneider. Kenny's first steady paycheck as a performer was Fox's sketch comedy The Edge, where he worked with Jennifer Aniston, Julie Brown, Wayne Knight, and Alan Ruck, among others. He later found success on the HBO sketch show Mr. Show with Bob and David, eventually marrying fellow ensemble comic Jill Talley.

As a singer and harmonica player, Tom Ball has been cooperating with another guitarist Kenny Sultan with whom he composed the music for many film scores, TV soundtracks, commercials and sessions. However, Mr. Ball is ... a guitarist, author of novels and music books. An American musician played on nearly 200 releases as a guest artist and was a member of the bands like The Yerba Buena Blues Band, Kenny Loggins and others. His first solo CD was titled "Guitar Music" and released in the year 1987. Its successor was "18 Pieces For Solo Steel String Guitar" (2003). The third aforementioned albums is a collection of film themes picked out from the likes of "The Bounty", "Swing Time", "Help", "The Maestro and Margarita", "Once Upon a Time in the West", "The Wizard of Oz" and others.

If Tom Kenny ever stopped voicing SpongeBob SquarePants, he'd probably feel like a fish out of water. Even though Kenny, "the Man of a Thousand Voices," has worked on toons from "PowerPuff Girls" to "The Fairly OddParents," he's made his biggest splash as the lovable invertebrate who's been a hit with kids and adults since "SpongeBob SquarePants" premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999.
