Tom Kenny was the lead singer for a Syracuse-based rock band, The Tearjerkers, in the early-1980s. He replaced original vocalist Buddy Love. Other members of The Tearjerkers included Charlie Robbins, Dave DeCirce, and Dave Soule, who is still active in the central New York music scene. Tom Kenny (born July 13th, 1962) is an American voice actor, actor and stand-up comedian. From the stand-up side, he is known for his Comedy Central special as well as his prominent role on Mr. Show. On the voice-acting side, he is best recognized as the titular character from Spongebob Squarepants, The Penguin from The Batman, The Amazing Mumbo from Teen Titans, Gibson from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force Go, Jake from My Gym Partner is a Monkey, Raimundo from Xiaolin Showdown, Heifer Wolfe from Rocko's Modern Life, and...jeez, just about everything that's been on Cartoon Network in the past five years. As an on-camera actor, he has played Patchy The Pirate on segments of Spongebob Squarepants, and very early on in his career, he played the villainous Binky The Clown in Bobcat Goldthwait's cult comedy Shakes The Clown.

Tom Kenny was born in Grenagh, a tiny village just outside of Cork, in 1981. He was educated locally in Grenagh and later at St. Finbarr's College, Farranferris, a famed hurling nursery in Cork city. It was here that his hurling talents were developed and he won a Dean Ryan Cup medal in 1996. He ... made a Harty Cup final appearance with the school in his final year at the school. AT the age of 16 he had trials for the Irish under-age soccer team. Kenny later attended University College Cork (UCC) where he studied commerce.
