What's so surprising about this picture of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes having a romantic meal in Berlin? Cruise is in town to film the movie "Valkyrie" with director Bryan "X-Men" Singer, but he almost didn't get permission to film in Germany because of his Scientologist beliefs. However, when you get are filming the story of Claus von Stauffenberg, a German army officer (portrayed by Cruise in the film) who led an attempt to assassinate Hitler in 1944, a sound stage in Toronto just won't do it. Luckily for Cruise, he recently received permission to film at Tempelhof Airport, a commercial airport used as a military base in World War II.

Search interest in actor Tom Cruise jumps 333 percent this week following news that an unauthorized biography by Andrew Morton, who previously profiled Madonna, Princess Diana, and Monica Lewinsky, was released on January 15. In the book, Morton claims Cruise is the number two leader in the Church of Scientology and even discusses the notion that Suri Cruise may have been conceived using the frozen sperm of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. Tom Cruise's camp denies Morton's claim, stating Morton did not even try to speak to anyone close to Cruise. The New York Daily News ... reports Cruise is considering a $100 million lawsuit over the publication of the book. Meanwhile, search activity in Board Games rises 400 percent, due in part to the recent winter weather resulting in millions of web users in search of ways to pass the time indoors.

Tom Cruise has personally, PERSONALLY, been pwned. This weekend, an anonymous Internet group (named Anonymous — these are not masters of subtlety) started a war with the Church of Scientology by hammering the group's web site; Scientology.org is down after a brief traffic spike. This isn't the only group of Internet users unafraid of the intimidating cult; a whole range of sites has turned the Church into a mockery by doing what mainstream celebrity-coverage outlets wouldn't dare. Here's a guide to the war (and a creepy manifesto made by The Internet!). more
