Tokio Hotel is a highly successful German pop band, formed in 2001 in Magdeburg, Germany. Identical twin brothers, Bill Kaulitz (b. September 1, 1989) and Tom Kaulitz (born 10 minutes before his brother) performed in small shows and talent shows as children. They later met schoolmates, Gustav Schäfer and Georg Listing and their similar tastes in music led them to create a band called Devilish. They played small shows since 2001 and by 2003, were approached by a music executive, Peter Hoffman. They were signed to the Universal music label in Hamburg, Germany and changed their name to Tokio Hotel (Tokio for the city of Tokyo, and "Hotel" because they toured and slept in hotels a lot).

Tokio Hotel is a German rock band. The quartet has scored four number one singles, two number one albums have sold nearly 3 million CDs and DVDs in their homeland.[4] So far they have had much chart success in Germany and Austria. They ... had some chart success in France, [5][6] Italy,[7][8], Israel[9], Sweden, Belgium [10], and Switzerland. [11]. However, while still struggling for success in most English-speaking countries, the band has released English language versions of Scream and Ready, Set, Go! in the UK [9], and are currently enjoying exposure in Canada and the United States.[12].

Emo quartet Tokio Hotel emerged as one of the most successful new German acts of their generation, scoring three number one singles via 2005's debut LP, Schrei. Bill and Tom Kaulitz, 12-year-old twins, formed the group in their native Magdeburg in 2001, recruiting bassist Gustav Schäfer and drummer Georg Listing to round out the lineup. Originally dubbed Devilish, the teen foursome toured aggressively before signing to Universal in 2003, adopting the moniker Tokio Hotel in tandem with the deal. Composed primarily by Bill Kaulitz in tandem with a series of high-profile songwriters, Schrei was preceded by the August 2005 release of Tokio Hotel's debut single, "Durch den Monsun." Teenage girls quickly embraced the band with puppy-love fervor, and by the end of the month the single topped the German pop chart and its Austrian counterpart. The follow-ups "Rette Mich" and "Der Letzte Tag" ... hit number one, although the former appeared in a re-recorded version dramatically different from its LP version thanks to Kaulitz's post-pubescent vocal changes. After the singer wrapped his contributions to filmmaker Luc Besson's animated fantasy Arthur and the Minimoys, Tokio Hotel returned to the studio to complete work on their 2007 follow-up album, Zimmer 483.

While their German CDs never received official releases outside the German-speaking world, Tokio Hotel's first English album "Scream" was released on the 4 June 2007 in all of Europe. In Germany, the album was released as "Room 483" in order to emphasize the continuity with their last German album "Zimmer 483". The album consists of English versions of a selection of songs from their German-language albums "Schrei" and "Zimmer 483". "Monsoon", the English version of "Durch den Monsun", was the first single from the album. "Ready, Set, Go!", the English version of "Übers Ende der Welt", was released as the album's second single. The third single was "By Your Side". A video for "Scream", the English version of their 2005 hit "Schrei", was ... recorded, although the song has not been released so far.

The script would have to include the fact that two of the Tokio Hotel members were just 13 years old when they made their first record, and they are still only 18 today. So no-one would believe it. No way.
