Todd Beamer

The first drive of the year for Todd Beamer was another huge success. Scott Haines, the Leadership Class Instructor, assembled another fantastic committee with Jessica Pak serving as committee chair for the drive. The group was described as being extremely responsible, organized and committed to supporting Cascade Regional Blood Services, St. Francis Hospital and other hospitals in their community. They got the word out, which resulted in 101 donors registering the first day and 105 the second. Even though this was short of their record and fell one donor short of the results from a year ago, this is the largest drive of the school year so far for CRBS.
Todd Beamer Todd Beamer, who resided in Cranbury, New Jersey, was an account manager for the Oracle Corporation. He died at age 32 in the September 11, 2001 attacks on board United Airlines Flight 93. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Beamer, two sons, David and Drew, and a daughter, Morgan Kay, who was born on January 9, 2002 . nearly four months after her father's death.
[O]n Flight 93, Todd Beamer, Jeremy Glick, Thomas Burnett, Mark Bingham and others did not have the luxury of amused Guardianesque detachment. So they effectively inaugurated the new Bush Doctrine: when you know your enemies have got something big up their sleeves, you take ’em out before they can do it.
Todd Beamer's call in fact only came to light five days after the attacks, in a report in the Post-Gazette. [24] Beamer's wife first learned of it three days after the attacks, in a phone call from United Airlines. Until then, the FBI had been keeping the information private until it had an opportunity to review it. (Yet how long does it take to review a written summary of a 13-minute phone call?) [25] An FBI agent had phoned Lisa Jefferson on the afternoon of 9/11. She recalled: "I was told to maintain secrecy. In fact, he stressed the importance of keeping the matter under wraps." [26] But why?

When Todd Beamer's father, David Beamer, first heard about the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, he was in a meeting in California. His wife, Peggy, was at home in Maryland, running errands. Neither of them had any reason to think that their only son, a 32-year-old husband and father, was involved.
Todd Beamer: Portrait of a Sunday School Teacher Video: Spanish On September 11, 2001, Todd Beamer was recognized as a hero for his actions on Flight 93. But he was a hero long before 9/11—Todd Beamer was a Sunday School teacher. This 5-minute video features Todd’s Sunday School students sharing why Todd was their hero and how his ministry changed their lives.
